WHY DO I PAINT?
In my search to understand nature and the world that surrounds me, I dip my brush into paint to express my momentary understanding of its beauty and simplicity. Although at the beginning of a never-ending road of discovery, I am trying to give my work both a story and a meaning in an impressionistic-realistic way. With a great passion for the Russian landscape paintings of the Realists / Peredvizhnikis / Impressionists, I work to focus my efforts and studies on accomplishing a similar representation of the landscape as well as of the ordinary elements that surround me. Through studying the masters of the past and practicing plein air, I intend to produce paintings that are sincere and that carry a well-refined representation of beauty.
